Monday Makes – Jewelry Making Daily

Today, we’ve got something a little different to share with you all. This Monday Makes is all about celebrating the centuries-old craft of jewellery making, so the site we’re loving today is Jewelry Making Daily! It has everything you need to fuel your passion for creating beautiful jewellery, but it also has a whole load of resources if you’re interested to start.

For projects or inspiration with jewellery making, this should definitely be your first stop. You can find so many gorgeous pieces to create in the Jewelry Projects tab, however, this
site works a little differently from others that we’ve told you about. The projects are free, but how-to-make-a-seashell-necklaceif you find one you like, you have to enter your email address to sign up to the free mailing list, then you can view the project. But it does seem that with each project, you receive the instructions to create the piece you were interested in, along with other information or instructions for more pieces in that style, so signing up to the mailing list isn’t too much of a sacrifice.

They have got plenty of project options to tailor to everyone’s interests, based on things like seasons, materials and occasion. If you’ve got some materials left over, like resin, beads, wire, enamel or even leather, we recommend taking a look on the site to see if there any ways that you can use them! We particularly love these unique leather pieces. There is also a download for recycled jewellery, so this is perfect if you’ve got some interesting found items or even some tin cans that you’d like to use for something.

If you want to brush up on your techniques, there’s a whole section dedicated to hints and tips on how to do so. It also has a drop down menu so you can choose the area of techniques you’d like to see, such as wire, cMooseDJ2016hainmaille or metal clay. Here, you’ll find lots of useful articles, photos and the video to show you how to achieve certain techniques. Of course, if you’re looking for something specific, you can always use the search bar at the top right of the page to find what you’re looking for.

There is a whole heap of things to look at in the Tools and Resources section, with our favourite being the free members gallery. In there, you can view other peoples projects from all over the world based on the jewellery type, but you can also upload your own images. If you’ve created a piece that you’re particularly proud of, this is the perfect place to show it off! You can also find a really useful jewellery dictionary and supplies guide in the tools and resources area, which are free to download by inputting your email address, and they’re perfect if you’re a beginner.

If you have an interest in creating jewellery, we really recommend Jewelry Making Daily! You can like them on Facebook and check out their Twitter to see posts from them and more inspiration.
