Monday Makes – Get It Scrapped

Scrapbooking is a craft that has been loved for years and is still gaining popularity in the present day, especially with the recent Project Life trend. Whether it’s the design aspect, the therapeutic benefits or the memories that people love, scrapbooking is continuing to grow and there are even ways to do it from your phone now! This is why we’ve decided to share Get It Scrapped with you today, a site dedicated to helping you get started with scrapbooking and giving you page inspiration.

UntitledThe first thing you’ll see when visiting the site is the endless amount of posts on it as you scroll down. The authors of the site publish regularly, with multiple posts a week, filled with lots of ideas and tips on building your scrapbook. They manage to cover so many aspects of scrapbooking, so we’re certain that they’ll have
the answer to whatever you need. Want to learn about making textured bases? They’ve got you covered. Not enough room for journaling on your pages? There’s plenty of tips for that. Looking to include some florals but not sure how? They’ve got it sorted. With over 120 pages of posts (and counting), we guarantee that they’ll have covered the topic you’re looking for. All you have to do is scroll down to the bottom of the page, and use the navigational numbers to move between pages. Once you’ve found a post you like, click it and read to your hearts content. If you’re a little daunted by all of the posts, don’t panic! There is a handy search bar on the right hand side which will do all of the work for you.

Some of the posts also include a video, which is perfect if you need a bit more help. With posts like that, all you have to do is scroll down until you see the video and hit play! This post has a lovely video about scrapbooking beach photos. If you’d like to see more posts with videos, an easy way to find them is by typing ‘video’ into the search bar.

UntitledIf you’re brand new to scrapbooking, there is a whole page that gives you the basics of how to get started. You’re provided with a list of the five parts of a scrapbook page, design principles and starter layouts. Once you feel as though you’ve got a grasp on those, you can move on to learning about the different ways you can tell a story, or you can take a look at some design or layout inspiration. What is important to remember, though, is that scrapbooking is a personal thing. It is a way to express your memories creatively, so there is no right or wrong!

And finally, if you’re a bit nosey like us, you’ll absolutely love the gallery and forum section of the site. Here, all of the scrapbooking lovers can talk about the pages they’re currently working on, share layouts, events they’re going to, and anything else scrapbook related! But we love looking at the photos they share the most, and the most recent ones can be seen at the top of the page. Just take a look at this one! If you’re looking for a little inspiration in any aspect of scrapbooking, this is the ideal area to hunt through.

We could spend hours scrolling through Get It Scrapped, with our crafty fingers twitching at the thought of patterned paper, embellishments and flicking through old photos. If you’d like to see more from Get It Scrapped, you can take a look at their Facebook or follow the sites creator, Debbie Hodge, on Twitter.
