Festival of Thrift 2016

The Festival of Thrift is back and it’s bigger than ever! This will be the fourth time that the event is held, and each time it gets more and more popular. It’s not hard to see why!

This festival is a cultural celebration for the people of the North East and the UK as a whole, where people can find fun in learning to reuse, recycle and upcycle. It encourages people to help the environment and save money, all while having a really great time.

The programme for this year is absolutely chock-full of interactive entertainment, thought-provoking art, tasty homemade food, a vast array of stalls selling upcycled, recycled and second-hand goods, activities, crafting, music, and plenty of tips and advice. There is also a hefty catalogue of workshops that will be running over the weekend, and you can take a look at that here.

So if you have the 17th and the 18th of September free, hop on down to Kirkleatham Museum and Grounds (Redcar, TS10 5NW)! Parking costs £5 for the whole day, but the event itself is completely free. It’s set to be an amazing, exciting weekend and we just can’t wait for September to get here!

For more information, you can take a look at the Festival of Thrift website, or their Facebook page.
