What a wonderful Sports Week it has been so far. As it is the penultimate day, there is still plenty to see and read from the NFWI, but we just wanted to say that we’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.
It has been so inspiring to see people of all different ages getting involved in a variety of activities and sports. Every day, the NFWI have shared interviews with women in WIFE (Women In Fitness Empowerment), each with their own thing that they’re involved in. These women are a range of ages, and the activities that they talk about can appeal to so many people, so there has been something for everyone. One of our favourite interviews was with Donna Noble, who is a yoga specialist working towards showing that every body is a yoga body. But of course, there are so many other interviews for you to read, so why not take a look at the NFWI blog to see them?
As well as updating their blog, the NFWI Facebook has been alive with content, with images, videos and stories from WIs all over the country. We loved this picture of Antje Kell giving a Tai Chi demonstration at her WI in Chirk! There have been images from runs, rowing, obstacle courses, rock climbing and even chair aerobics. It has been a hive of activity and inspiration that we think we may have caught the exercise bug too!
And if you aren’t feeling inspired by all of that, then you should definitely check out this article from WI life about Joy Jordan, who represented team GB at the Rome Olympics in 1960.
