If you’re looking for something to do on Saturday 15th October, particularly if you have little ones, we definitely recommend you get yourself down to Stockton’s Book Festival! This will be the town’s first ever one, and we hope that there will be many to follow it.
The theme for the event is crime, rhymes and mischief, and there will be something for the whole family. There will be readings from nationally recognised authors, book signings, a book themed specialist market, a treasure hunt and much more! Each of the events will take place on Stockton High Street and Stockton Central Library, so everything is well within walking distance. There will also be a special Mad Hatters Tea Party in Remember Me Tea Rooms, which sounds very exciting!
The Festival will also mark the launch of Stockton Children’s Book of the Year 2017, with the shortlist being announced by last years winning author, Ellie Irving, who will also be giving a talk. The shortlisted books will be available to buy during the event and can be loaned from your local library.
It is sure to be a great day, and to make it even better, it’s completely free! If you’d like more info or to see the events schedule, please take a look at the Book Festival site.
