If you’re into all things sewing, quilting and lifestyle, you will absolutely love the blog we’re talking about today. Flossie Teacakes is written by Florence, a lovely lady with a huge passion for crafting. Her blog is packed full of sewing and quilting, with lots of life bits in between. She also creates her own patterns for you to purchase and has a ton of tutorials for you to follow along to! If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, keep reading!
Something that we especially love about this blog is that everything you need to right on the homepage. The stream of blog posts flows nicely down the middle of the screen, while the sides are padded out by links and gorgeous pictures. All the navigation buttons are at the top, making it so easy to find what you’re looking for. This means that absolutely anyone can use this blog with ease, and take in all the amazing things Florence makes!
It’s very clear to see that she loves all things sewing and quilting, as so many of her posts are about the things she makes. While it’s great to read about the items she has created, she also has many posts that allow you to follow along too! You can find these in the tutorials section, and you can find projects like fabric bookmarks, a patchwork quilt, and lavender sachets. There are even tutorials for those among us that don’t quilt or sew, like these peppermint creams and these stained glass butterflies! If you spotted something in one of Florence’s posts that isn’t in the tutorial section, there’s a good chance that she made the pattern for it, so you may be able to find it in the patterns section. While you do have to pay for a pattern that she has designed, they are very affordable and so detailed that they’re definitely worth the money.
Even if you aren’t into sewing or quilting, we think you’ll all absolutely love Florence. She just radiates positivity and we can’t help but feel cheerful for just reading her posts. Her writing is great, and she comes across as so down-to-earth. If you’re a bit nosey and love to read about what other people get up to, her lifestyle posts are a great read! We have to admit, our favourite post so far is one in which she lists all of her favourite online fabric shops – it’ll definitely come in handy to a few of our members!
