We haven’t talked about a blog for a long time on Monday Makes! This, combined with the idea of spring cleaning led us to discovering New Dress A Day, a blog authored by the wonderful Marisa, all about upcycling and thrifting clothes. If you’re in the process of clearing out your wardrobe, why not take a look at the blog and see if there are any ways for you to make the most out of your old clothes?
There are plenty of sections to explore on NDAD, but the place to go if you’re looking for a detailed guide on how to upcycle certain pieces or to achieve or certain look is the blog. Here, you’ll find all of Marisa’s latest posts about bringing a bit of life back to your clothing, whether they’re outdated, stained or just falling apart! We particularly love this post about transforming a floral ruffled dress. The final product is stunning! We also love this trendy, 60s inspired mini dress transformation. As you can only see a select amount of posts in the blog section, you can also head to the archives where there are pages and pages of posts to see!
If it’s just a little bit of inspiration you’re after, having a look at the before and after section may be the best for you. Here, you can see lots of images of Marisa wearing a garment before she’s worked her magic and after. They’re helpfully split into years and months, so if you want to look at something summery, you can see projects from July in a specific year. There are so many different images to see featuring a variety of pieces, so it’s a great place to go if you need some upcycling inspo.
This may just be our new favourite blog! We love Marisa’s positive attitude and super creative mind. It’s almost like she can turn absolutely anything into something completely new, which is really inspiring. We could happily spend hours just scrolling through her site and looking at all the projects she’s done, and all of her stunning outfits. For spring clear outs, this is the blog you need to take a peek at!
