Fancy Crossing The Tees with us?

From next Friday (9th June), we can all look forward to two weeks of events, thanks to Crossing The Tees! This is a book festival that is held all over Teesside and the surrounding areas, so you can find events in Stockton, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Darlington and Redcar & Cleveland! If you’d like more info on the festival, you can click here, but we’ve got some really exciting news to tell you about it.

We’ve managed to reserve tickets for two of the events during the festival! The first is for Julian Norton – The Yorkshire Vet (tickets are £5 each – 6:30pm-8:30pm – Stockton Central Library, 14th June), the star of Channel 5’s The Yorkshire Vet and author of Horses, Heifers and Hairy Pigs: The Life of a Yorkshire Vet. He will be recounting stories from his life and work as a vet, and talking about his unexpected stardom. It’s bound to be an interesting and funny talk!

The next event we’ve reserved tickets for is Bad Girls & Bonnets by the History Wardrobe (tickets are £7 each – 7pm-9pm – Hartlepool Central Library, 22nd June). We absolutely love History Wardrobe and this talk, with the tagline ‘Jane Austen’s guide to being brazen’, sounds absolutely fab! It’ll be a celebration of Austen’s wicked women, as well as a look at clothes and crime in the 18th century. If you’ve ever seen these wonderful ladies perform before, you’ll know that we’re in for a real treat, but if not, they’re definitely worth checking out!

If you’d like to purchase tickets to either or both of these events, we will be selling them at our next meeting (6th June), so make sure you don’t miss out! If you’d like to see the full schedule for Crossing The Tees, please click here.
