A solstice to remember !

Unfortunately, someone forgot to tell Seaton Carew that today was the hottest June day in 40 years, so it was a select few that braved the rain for our Strolling Sisters beach walk.

Undaunted, the chatter flowed as much as the rain and we were all still smiling as we walked along the beach, across the dunes and then back through North Gare salt marshes onto Seaton Front. A rare moment of sunshine afforded us the opportunity to take the picture above, but as you can see, we were a little damp !!

As ever we ended our visit with a spot of lunch, this time visiting the wonderful Glady’s Vintage Tea Room. Despite being dripping wet we were welcomed with open arms, even being given dry towels upon which to sit, as we enjoyed a welcome cuppa and a bite to eat.

Our next walk will be on Wednesday 19 July when we will be walking around Hardwick Country Park at Sedgefield, full details to follow but all welcome !
