The route laps around the High Street where spectators can get up close to this exciting closed road event. Go support and be inspired by some of the UK’s best riders and teams, past participants include Olympic medalists Ed Clancy OBE and Owain Doull MBE along with riders from top teams, such as Team Wiggins and One Pro Cycling.

On Saturday, between 8am and 9am, you can take a challenge and join in with the Stockton Sportive. The Stockton Sportive is a challenging event offering cyclists of all ability the chance to take part in a ride ranging from 36 to 106 miles. Every ride departs from Stockton Riverside with an escorted start, just like the ‘Tour De France’! From the start the riders will head out into the region, taking in beautiful scenery and breath-taking North Yorkshire Moors before heading back to Stockton Riverside for a well earned rest and opportunity to explore our Events Village. There will be Feeding Stations, a Broom Wagon and support throughout the routes – making sure your wheels keep turning.  Booking in advance for these rides is advisable as places are limited.

And last but not least, Sunday sees the most action of the weekend. From 12pm – 2:30pm, you can join in with the family friendly RideStockton event for free! This community cycle ride offers a great opportunity for people of all ages to experience the fun and freedom of cycling on traffic-free roads.  The route loops around the stunning Stockton High Street and Stockton Riverside.  Everyone is welcome, no matter what their age or ability. You can cycle the route at a leisurely pace and as many times as you like.  There’s also entertainment to enjoy along the way!

Also on Sunday is the Stockton Grand Prix, which leaves the town at 12pm and arrives back between 3pm and 4pm for a thrilling grand finale. It will see the UKs best riders competing around this fantastic course, departing from the Stockton Riverside, adjacent to the RideStockton event and the Family Festival Day event village. The route will then head out-of-town where riders will complete 10 laps of our main race circuit through the leafy villages of Thorpe Thewles, Charlton, Redmarshall, Whitton and Thorpe Leazes, before returning for a gripping conclusion with a six lap finale finishing circuit through Riverside and Teesdale.

You can also expect to see some amazing stunt biking at the Extreme Bike Battle event, which will be running from 11am til 2:30pm. You’ll experience some of the UK’s best stunt riders across three disciplines, Flatlanders, BMXers and Mountain bike, all battling against each other and fighting for the crowds reaction! There’s three rounds to enjoy, each with 30 minutes of adrenalin fuelled stunts.  The riders will go against each on all disciplines with all six riders aiming to perform their best tricks in each round.

As well as all of this, there is a packed programme of cycling themed activities and entertainment thoughout the day for the whole family to enjoy, a free climbing wall, face painting, crazy golf, food and drink stalls, and exhibitors offering goods and advice themed around cycling!
